Young Adult Carer Support Officer

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated applicants with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate a commitment to partnership working together with an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by carers.

The post holder will provide direct support to young adult carers, aged 16-25 living throughout the Stirling Council area. This will be done through the undertaking of Carers Assessments/Support Plans, benefit checks, form filling, listening ear service, peer support groups, short breaks and by any other relevant means that supports the needs of young adult carers. The post holder will also work in partnership with statutory, voluntary and independent sector professionals to ensure that young adult carers are identified, supported and recognised as equal partners in care.

Young Carers Assistant Support Officer

Stirling Carers Centre, Young Carers Service offers personalised and holistic services, to unpaid young carers in the Stirling Council area. Our core services include group support, 1:1 emotional support, provision of information and advice, school holiday day trips and residentials. Alongside focusing on individual needs and outcomes, we also promote professional and public awareness of young carers’ issues and offer young carers the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services for all young carers.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated applicants with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate a commitment to partnership working together with an understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by young carers.

The post holder will provide direct support to young carers, aged 7-18yrs living throughout the Stirling Council area. This will be done mainly through the evening group support we offer, as well as undertaking support plan assessments and reviews. The post holder will also be responsible for assisting in the planning and preparation for young carer groups, day trips and residentials.
